FAMILY CIRCUS
Typical family morning
Mama as referee
Deciding who bit who in the living room
As they bicker 'bout the clicker to the cable TV
Hush up and eat your Rice Krispies
So Daddy can hear the news
They say it takes a whole village to raise up a child
Heck, it takes half the city just to find her right shoe.
But that's my family circus
Founded at the moment of birth
It might only have one ring
But it's the greatest show on Earth....
Now they're jockeying for position
Best seat in the family van
Daddy's off to the office, cause I'm the musician
So we need that breadwinning man
He's a master of "Go ask your mama!"
Cause he knows I like the power
The kids all hate her, mean ol' morning dictator
But it buys me peace and quiet for a couple of hours
But that's my family circus
Founded at the moment of birth
It might only have one ring
But it's the greatest show on Earth....
Got my own barrel of monkeys
We really have a lot of fun
But if I ain't driving a circus train
WHY DOES IT SMELL LIKE ONE??!!
After dinner I'll feed the critters
Then tuck my little clowns in bed
And run a little faster to my OWN ring-master
For some high flying, without a net
And that's my family circus
Founded at the moment of birth
It might only have one ring...but it's a gold one
And it's the greatest show on Earth!
